FREE Venture Capital 101 Course for Women

Venture capital could support diverse entrepreneurs who bring novel solutions to important global challenges. But it can be daunting to get started in an industry that historically has been exclusive. By some estimates, 40% of VCs are alumni of Harvard or Stanford, and only 2% of venture capital is invested in female-founded companies.

Venture Capital 101 for Women is a free, six-part introductory course online that explains how VC works and covers the four primary roles in the venture capital ecosystem: venture capitalists, limited partners, entrepreneurs, fractional talent and service providers.

The next class begins Tuesday, February 6 and is taught by Jenny Kuan, associate professor at @ Cal State Monterey Bay and general partner at @ être Venture Capital. The course is based on her research on the history of venture capital in Silicon Valley and beyond.

Each session is 90 minutes weekly over lunch (12pm – 1:30pm PST) on Zoom.
