On July 25th, financial climate technology startup, Climatize, announced it has been selected to be part of Techstars Boulder Accelerator Program. Techstars Boulder Program originated in 2007 and is the original Techstars accelerator. Fifteen years later, the program continues to graduate hundreds of companies each year.

Climatize provides a mobile app where users can simply invest the spare change from their everyday credit card purchases directly in profitable climate projects. Climatize is one of 12 companies that was selected to participate in the summer program. This is Techstar Boulders first summer program which includes a class of mostly U.S. based consumer and commercial businesses in Fintech categories varying from blockchain infrastructure to consumer impact.

Climatize will be part of the hybrid 13 week program where they will have access to a mentorship network and business resources. Techstars contributes $20,000 to companies in its accelerator portfolio, which is commonly used as a stipend to support living expenses during the program, and in return receives 6% equity of the company (on a fully diluted basis, issued as common stock) until the company raises a priced equity financing of US $250,000 or more (a “Qualified Financing”).

“Boulder was the origin of the Techstars program so it's an honor to join their flagship program. The program is fintech focused which is another important endorsement; as a climate fintech we can hold our own in this vertical. Many times people believe a company with impact implies a lower investment return. In this case, I can confidently state that climate fintech will deliver an outsized market alpha.” - Will Wiseman, Co-founder of Climatize.
