Swell Cycle is a pioneering surfboard company that aims to resolve the "surfer's paradox" - an inherent conflict that arises from a deep connection to the ocean and the use of unsustainable, toxic materials in traditional surfboard production. We believe that surfing should not come at the cost of damaging our oceans and the environment. Our mission is to make surfboard manufacturing more sustainable by reducing waste and transforming trash into treasure.

The Problem

Traditional board building produces an alarming amount of waste, with 2x the weight of a surfboard being generated as waste during the production process. Additionally, 40% of the foam core is discarded to make the final shape. At Swell Cycle, we are committed to changing this status quo by empowering shapers and glassers to create boards using more sustainable methods that protect the environment.

By leveraging cutting-edge technology, including 3D printing and innovative material research, we transform plastic water bottles and old hospital trays into functional and visually stunning surfboards. Our approach not only helps reduce waste and pollution, but also provides surfers with an alternative to the traditional surfboard manufacturing process.
