Cabrillo College IT Institute Returns

This 11-week foundational program in the IT field will begin January 24, 2022 and offer a mix of life/career skills and job readiness alongside technical skills. Based on significant labor market demand, this program is designed to be completed entirely online and include 1:1 and group support from the CIS IT Institute team.

During the first week, the program focuses on skills for success, and in particular will address the challenges students are facing during our current environment of remote learning and Covid 19. It will provide specific strategies and resources to promote mental health and physical well being while creating a sense of shared community online. It will also connect students directly to campus resource providers through zoom meet and greets and presentations.

The technical heart of the program will be an accelerated instructor-led CIS 71 - IT Essentials to prepare participants for entry-level IT support positions and/or to take theCompTIA A+ test (fee $125) or prepare for Google IT certification. Students will Plan for Success with CG 51 (1 unit) and prepare for job search, employment and workplace success, with non-credit DMCP 402, 403, 404, and 405. The cohort will be limited to 30 participants.
