#11 Santa Cruz Accelerant Climatize, formerly known as Seeds, was recently selected in the Top 10 for the global Climate Fintech Challenge hosted by California's New Energy Nexus & sponsored by Mastercard, Barclays, Doconomy & Patch.

According to their website, the CPC Challenge is a competition that aims to bring together the newest Climate Fintech innovators to “impact the way we spend, the things we buy, and the rewards we reap.” The challenge draws in a wide variety of entrepreneurs and organizations working in the realm of digital payments, digital wallets, credit assessment, rewards, and processing infrastructure but with the ultimate goal of decarbonization and better stewardship of the planet. Climatize is among nine other #climatefintech startups aiming to tackle climate change by reimagining the future of commerce. Finalists are up for $160,000 in cash prizes, opportunities for proof-of-concept projects, and investment by VCs.

Climatize is the first mobile app allowing individuals to start investing with as little as $0.01 for a cleaner future. Spare change can be turned into profitable & sustainable assets that protect the environment. Check out their presentation at Santa Cruz Work’s September New Tech to learn more.
