New Startup: Doorfinder Helps CPGs Expand

Christopher Duval is the Founder of Doorfinder.io, a market data tool helping consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands and distributors improve their strategic decision making.  During Chris' time as a location analytics consultant, he was surprised to find that companies, especially those in the CPG Industry, were struggling to harness the power of easy-to-use geographic data to inform physical marketplace decisions. Rather, many of the companies Chris worked with were hiring expensive consultants to run elementary analyses to help with their market expansion.

After two years as a consultant, Chris decided to follow in his family's entrepreneurial footsteps and pursue his own career. In August 2020, Chris moved on from his job as a consultant and began his postgraduate education at USF. While a student at USF, Chris conceptualized and developed the Doorfinder Platform that exists today.

Always fascinated by the power of maps and data, Chris envisioned and developed a business model and product designed around geographic analysis and the direct application it can have for businesses expanding into physical markets. Doorfinder was built to help companies find better leads faster, by connecting companies to geographic analysis tools.

Specifically, Doorfinder helps companies better understand their physical and digital geographic presence and find similar market opportunities that fit that profile. Doorfinder's built-in filters and datasets allow companies to quickly analyze physical market opportunities and determine whether a market opportunity is suitable for a specific product. Although Doorfinder is an early-stage startup, the company has a market-ready product with the ability to immediately impact the CPG industry.

Chris did not go about building Doorfinder all by himself. Chris surrounded himself with a team of his classmates, Paul Giraud, Ryan Davis, and Marie Guier, to help further ideate, build Doorfinder's product and help bolster sales outreach for the company.

Outside of Doorfinder, Chris is an avid sports fan and a diehard 49ers fan. His current hobbies include cycling and hiking trails around the Bay Area. Chris was also a member of the 2016 Men's Rowing National Championship team at UC Berkeley, so he is always looking for a good challenge and fun ride.

Doorfinder will present at the Santa Cruz New Tech on September 1, 2021. Get your tickets now!
