Meet AHSC Intern: Noemi at Radi8

For Noemi, a first-generation Latina college student from Watsonville, the AHSC Internship Program has been more than just a job opportunity, it has been a chance to gain real-world experience, build confidence, and explore her passion for entrepreneurship.

Currently attending San Jose State University, Noemi serves as a Marketing Associate Intern with Radi8, a startup marketing platform that helps entrepreneurs and small businesses strengthen their branding and marketing strategies. In her role, she works with clients to develop marketing campaigns, support personal branding efforts, and help founders communicate their stories more effectively.

Working in a startup environment has exposed Noemi to much more than traditional marketing. She collaborates directly with founders, participates in client meetings, tests new technology, and helps shape marketing strategies for growing businesses. Through the experience, she has strengthened her communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills while learning the importance of taking initiative.

"A really big thing I learned is how to take initiative and the importance of it and being able to get out of my comfort zone," she said.

One of her most rewarding experiences involved helping a client develop and share her founder story. After encouraging the entrepreneur to highlight her personal journey on her website, Noemi watched as customers connected with the story and engaged more deeply with the business.

"It was amazing to see that from the beginning to where we are now," she said.

Beyond marketing, the internship has also shaped Noemi's future goals. Through her work with Radi8, she has developed a stronger interest in entrepreneurship and hopes to one day launch both her own company and a nonprofit focused on helping underserved youth access technology, startups, and career opportunities.

"I would love to continue working with startups and innovative companies, especially in technology and entrepreneurship," she shared.

Noemi hopes her experience encourages other young people to pursue opportunities outside their comfort zones, build their networks, and believe in what is possible.

"My advice is to take the risk and meet as many people as you can. You never know where that will take you."
