A snapshot of the problem your startup will solve to make the world a better place:
I have been working on the climate problem since I learned about it at UC Berkeley in 1986. One of the first things I did was in-line skate across the U.S. to raise awareness about the problem. After seeking the most effective solutions for 30 years I believe I have found it: Biofuels. The quickest and cheapest way to get off fossil fuels is to replace them with biofuels.
Solar, wind, geothermal, hydro, etc., can provide us a green solution for our electricity needs but they won’t power the 2 billion liquid fueled vehicles around the world. Electric vehicles are helpful but they won’t get us off fossil fuels in the time we have and at a budget we can afford. According to the California Air Resources Board, biofuels reduced CO2 emissions in California 5 times more than EVs.
Peregrine Fuels’ mission is to accelerate the use and production of biofuels here in the Santa Cruz area, and in the world beyond. We sell biofuels in the Monterey Bay Area and are working to develop bio-refineries to convert wastes into liquid biofuels. Peregrine Fuels is attending the Santa Cruz Accelerates program to learn and connect with investors, partners and advisors.
“As a long-time Santa Cruz resident and entrepreneur, I am excited to join the Santa Cruz Accelerates program. I really like the fact that it is local, free and with zero dilution. Starting a new business is really hard and I am looking forward to the help such a program can bring. Thanks for making it happen!”-William LeBon
