  • Getty goes AI: previously banned, Getty changes directions and adds AI generated images.

  • LinkedIn adds AI: the networking platform is adding new AI-powered tools to help recruiters more easily surface job candidates. And there is a chatbot in the works as a learning tool.

  • Mapbox $280M for AI: SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son told investors months ago that his multinational investment holding giant would again be shifting from “defense mode”as it looked to be a leader in AI. 

  • MS Copilot AI: Microsoft introduces "Microsoft Copilot," a unified AI assistant across Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Bing, and Edge, with the latest Windows 11 update bolstering AI functionalities in key apps, supported by new Surface devices and enterprise tools launching this fall.

  • AI to predict brain cancer outcomes: Stanford Medicine scientists and peers have created an AI model that analyzes glioblastoma tissue images to gauge tumor aggression, identify genetic makeup, and assess post-surgery cancer cell remnants.

  • Amazon invests in Anthropic: highly unusual for Amazon which typically builds everything itself; Anthropic was built as a “safe” AI.

  • Kolena - a platform for rigorous testing of ML solutions - helps you determine which ones are more accurate, raised $15M.

  • Mapping of every molecule: UCSC completed the Human Genome. Now chemists want to use AI to map every molecule.

  • Program biology like software: AI is accelerating biological research, enabling scientists to code living organisms and create new proteins that break down barriers in medicine, food science, and climate change. Synthetic biology allows scientists to manipulate and redesign cells to produce desired outcomes, such as biofuels and disease-resistant plants.

  • Talk with Animals: Recent breakthroughs in AI have led people to realize that we are on the verge of major advances in understanding animals' communicative behavior.

  • Voice-activated AI for hospitals: Oracle announced the integration of a generative AI Clinical Digital Assistant into its EHR solutions. This aims to automate administrative tasks for caregivers, allowing them to prioritize patient care.
