Your Body Is Live-Streaming. Fullpower-AI Built Something That Actually Watches.
Santa Cruz's Fullpower-AI has introduced KOA Orchestration, an architecture designed to turn your body's nonstop stream of biological data into context, insights, and action—without depending on any single AI model to do the thinking.
Let's start with a number: 92.
Is 92 bad?
You have no idea. Neither do I. Because 92 is a heart rate, and a heart rate by itself is like walking into a movie theater for exactly one second, seeing a guy scream, and walking out. Was it a horror movie? A comedy? Did he just step on a Lego? Without the before and after, the scream is useless.
Your body is basically a movie that never stops playing. It's been streaming continuously since the day you were born, and for most of history, medicine has been watching it in one-second clips. You go to the doctor, they grab a frame (blood pressure! weight! "say ahh"!), and then you disappear for another year while the movie keeps running with nobody watching.
Fullpower-AI, the Santa Cruz company behind Sleeptracker-AI, thinks that's a little ridiculous. Its new announcement, KOA Orchestration, is an attempt to finally watch the whole movie.
Okay, so what is it?
KOA is a four-layer cake. (Everyone loves a cake metaphor. Stay with me.)
Layer 1: Sensing. This is the part that just... collects. Wearables, contactless sensors, connected devices, all pouring data in, all the time, like a firehose nobody can turn off.
Layer 2: Analysis. This is where it gets clever. Instead of comparing you to some imaginary "average human" (who, let's be honest, doesn't exist and has never existed), KOA compares you to you. Your baseline. Your normal. So if your normal resting heart rate is 52 and it's suddenly 70 every night, KOA notices, even though 70 would look perfectly fine on a population chart.
Layer 3: Reasoning. Here's where the big-brain AI comes in. KOA pulls in leading foundation models, through platforms like AWS Bedrock and OpenAI, and pairs them with Fullpower's own clinical know-how to turn a mountain of squiggly lines into a summary a human can actually read.
Layer 4: Action. The point of all this. Alerts, clinician dashboards, enterprise APIs. Data that just sits there is a diary. Data that triggers a response is a system.
The sneaky-smart part
Here's the thing about AI models in 2026: they're like phones in 2010. Whatever's best today will feel embarrassingly ancient in about eighteen months.
So Fullpower made KOA model-agnostic. The AI brain in Layer 3 can be swapped out whenever a smarter one comes along, while everything else (the sensors, the personal baselines, the clinical workflows) stays put. It's like building a house where you can upgrade the kitchen without knocking down the walls. The walls, it turns out, are the valuable part.
Why clinicians should care
Right now, a lot of patient monitoring works like a smoke detector that goes off every time you make toast. After the 400th false alarm, you stop listening. That's alert fatigue, and it's a real problem. KOA's pitch is fewer beeps, more "here's what's actually going on and why it matters."
This isn't Fullpower's first rodeo
A few fun facts. KOA stands for Knowledge Organizational Architecture, and it's also named after the company's dog, Koa, who appears in a photo at Seascape Beach near Fullpower-AI's Santa Cruz headquarters. (Best naming origin story in health tech? Possibly.)
And this dog-named system is not a science project. In August 2025, Tempur Sealy put $25 million into Fullpower-AI's Series C alongside a 10-year global licensing deal for the KOA Sleeptracker-AI platform, valuing the company at $160 million. Meanwhile, at SLEEP 2026, Sleeptracker-AI data fed UCSF and Stanford research covering 222,748 individuals and 24.2 million nights of sleep.
That's a lot of nights. That's a lot of movie.
The big picture
The company is run by Philippe Kahn, the guy who invented the camera phone, which means he has a decent track record of looking at two separate things and thinking, "what if these were one thing?" KOA is that instinct applied to your biology: sensing plus thinking plus doing, all in one loop.
Your body happens in real time. For the first time, the intelligence watching it might, too.
