Meet the AHSC Interns: Melanie Kate at Go Ask Alice
Go Ask Alice Social Media Marketing intern Melanie Kate has built her path around creativity, curiosity, and connection. Passionate about film and visual storytelling, she’s completed multiple internships that have helped her blend artistic vision with practical skills. Through the AHSC internship program, this work has been made possible.
At BizzNEST, the digital media arm of Digital NEST, Melanie worked behind the scenes in film production, assisting on set and contributing to pre-production tasks. “I saw how much planning, coordination, and creative problem-solving are involved at every stage. What I appreciated most was getting to meet and learn from the people on the team; their passion and collaborative spirit made the experience really inspiring.” Her time at BizzNEST strengthened her understanding of the production process and deepened her respect for the work put in off-camera.
Now interning at Go Ask Alice, an herbal apothecary rooted in holistic healing, Melanie’s creative focus has shifted to digital storytelling. She crafts TikTok and Instagram Reels, and writes newsletters promoting events, product launches, and community happenings. “What I’ve found especially interesting is how different social media is from film; the pace, format, and goals are unique. This role has taught me how to tailor content for digital platforms while still keeping a strong sense of storytelling.” BizzNEST’s team of young creatives provides budget-friendly web design, photography, graphic design, and more – propelling both creatives and businesses.
Through both experiences, Melanie has discovered the many forms storytelling can take, whether it's behind a camera or behind a brand.
