MJA Vineyards Presents: Murder Mystery Party to support High School Robotics
Santa Cruz is home to some of the brightest young engineers in the world. X Academy’s Hephaestus Robotics team proved just that when they placed third in the international MATE ROV competition last year, competing against more than 200 high schools from across the globe, for the second year in a row! Now, as they prepare to return to the World Championships, they’re inviting the community to help make it possible.
On Saturday, March 14th, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., X Academy will host a Murder Mystery Party fundraiser at MJA Vineyards on the Westside (328 Ingalls St., Santa Cruz). The event promises an evening of suspense, good food, and great company—all in support of local STEM education.
Guests can “Sip & Solve” with a “Killer Cabernet” or “Mysterious Merlot” while hunting for clues. A spread of charcuterie, flautas, empanadas, and desserts will keep sleuths energized as the mystery unfolds. Attendees can choose to step into character and join the live action or simply sit back as a guest detective and watch the drama play out. Between clues, there will be music, high-energy entertainment, and a silent auction featuring local treasures. 1920s Gatsby-inspired attire is encouraged for anyone ready to dress the part.
As the only dedicated robotics club in Santa Cruz, X Academy works to bridge the resource gap that often limits access to advanced STEM opportunities. Founded in 2014, the nonprofit provides math enrichment for middle schoolers and high school robotics programs serving students from 13 schools in Watsonville and Santa Cruz in partnership with the Santa Cruz County Office of Education.
