The Santa Cruz Works New Tech on April 7 had inspirational companies talk about their mission, and the many jobs they are offering. Watch the video for all of the information. Here is a snapshot:

  • Hacking for Oceans - Andrea Carafa informed us about the UCSC program for marine-minded entrepreneurs. Open to undergrad and grad students. More info at Hacking for Oceans

  • Monterey Bay Economic Partnership - Hayley Meares talked about the many initiatives being tackled by MBEP including Housing, Broadband, Workforce Development, and Climate. She also gave information on Monterey Bay Career Connect, Monterey Bay Career Coach, and Monterey Bay Internships. And don’t forget to attend the 7th Annual Regional Economic Summit.

  • Environmental Innovations - Booke Wright helped us understand the many certifications of the regional Green Business Program.

  • Gazelle - Ewoud van Leeuwen the history of Gazelle, the bike-focus of the Netherlands, and the importance of infrastructure for bike riders. And Gazelle Santa Cruz is hiring!

  • Confluent - Kyle Clark made it easy for the layperson to understand the importance of Confluent’s near-realtime event approach to database architecture. And, yes, they are hiring!

  • InfiniRel - Bert Wank’s company focuses on the importance of protecting the emerging green tech world from electronics failures in devices such as inverters. They are hiring for embedded power, DSP, system modeling, devOps, database, Cloud and AI.

  • Orange Charger - Nicholas Johnson presented his company’s solution for setting up charging stations for renters who live in dense areas where they might not have easy access to charging stations.

  • Saving Ocean Wildlife - Laura Kasa has a solution to help marine life quickly when every minute counts.
