Cabrillo College Job & Internship Fair Returns April 16 with 50+ Employers

If you are looking for a job, an internship, or simply a clearer sense of what opportunities exist in Santa Cruz County right now, Cabrillo College’s upcoming Job & Internship Fair is worth showing up for.

The fair takes place Thursday, April 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Cabrillo College, 6500 Soquel Drive in Aptos, and it is open to the public. In addition to direct access to employers, attendees can also take advantage of free resume reviews and free LinkedIn profile photos.

Cabrillo expects more than 50 employers to attend, spanning healthcare, education, public service, construction, hospitality, transportation, nonprofits, agriculture, and financial services.

Some of the larger and more recognizable employers on the list include County of Santa Cruz, Sutter Health, Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District, Santa Cruz Seaside Company, California Giant Berry Farms, Graniterock, BMO Financial Group, Chaminade Resort & Spa, Santa Cruz County Office of Education, and the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office. The lineup also includes organizations such as Digital NEST, Community Action Board of Santa Cruz County, Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County, Second Harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz County, Easterseals Central California, Salinas Valley Health, Salud Para La Gente, and Central Fire District of Santa Cruz County.

Events like this are one of the clearest windows into the local economy because they bring together employers hiring for very different pathways at the same time: full-time roles, part-time work, internships, and public-facing career tracks that many job seekers may not have considered before. Cabrillo’s fair is built to serve both students and the broader public, making it a practical entry point for anyone trying to get traction locally.

For job seekers, the move here is simple: show up prepared, bring a polished resume, and be ready to talk to more than one kind of employer. For employers, these fairs remain one of the fastest ways to meet motivated local talent face-to-face instead of hoping the right candidate happens to find a listing online.

Santa Cruz County talks often about talent retention, workforce development, and creating stronger local career pipelines. This is what that work looks like in practice: students, job seekers, and employers meeting in the same room with real opportunities on the table.
