CMTC Awards Santa Cruz Works

If the 3rd time is a charm, the 4th time is bound to astound!

For the 4th consecutive year, Santa Cruz Works (SCW) was awarded funding from California Manufacturing Technology Consulting (CMTC) to support the regional manufacturing industry.

The ongoing collaboration between SCW and CMTC reflects a steady commitment to supporting and developing the manufacturing sector in the central coast region. SCW has consistently worked towards creating a conducive environment for innovation and has contributed to the growth and development of local manufacturing enterprises through various initiatives and support structures.

“We are very grateful to CMTC for continuing support of central coast manufacturing,” explained Doug Erickson, Executive Director of SCW.  “We are seeing manufacturing and jobs returning to our communities as evidenced by large companies such Joby Aviation and Ambient Photonics.”

“Santa Cruz County is home to some of the most innovative manufacturers in the State, which is why Santa Cruz Works is such a valuable partner in California’s Manufacturing Network.”, stated Jim Watson, CEO of CMTC. “CTMC is grateful to have a partner as dedicated as Santa Cruz Works, in the Network”, he continued.

Supporting Local Manufacturers

Over the years SCW, with assistance from CMTC, has provided support to numerous local manufacturers, enabling them to navigate through the complexities and challenges of the manufacturing industry. Companies such as Cruz Foam, Light & Motion, Parallel Flight Technologies, Purcell, Ambient Photonics, and HitchFire have benefitted from this support. The funding has allowed SCW to offer vital services in areas like technology adoption, business development, and scaling strategies to these and several other businesses, facilitating their pursuit of excellence and sustainable growth in the manufacturing sector.

A Steady Path Forward

SCW will utilize the funding to continue providing support and resources to small- and medium-sized manufacturing companies in the region. The ongoing partnership with CMTC strengthens the support structure for local manufacturers and contributes to their future endeavors, technological advancements, and competitiveness in the global market. As SCW enters another year of collaboration with CMTC, the focus remains on facilitating pathways which enable businesses to navigate the current manufacturing landscape, remain competitive, and shape the future of the industry.
