Community Speed Investing Returns Quarterly
Our first Community Speed Investing event on December 10, 2020 was a huge success. And while 2020 is a year most of us would like to forget, investments in startups set new records. According to GeekWire, venture capital investors sunk $946 million across 54 deals in the Pacific Northwest during the fourth quarter. That followed $1.1 billion raised in the third quarter, and a strong first half of 2020 for Seattle and the broader Pacific Northwest startup ecosystem.
Locally, we saw record investments in Carnot Compression ($300k+), Parallel Flight Technologies ($2M), PayStand, and more. Let’s shatter the records again in 2021.

Event Format
Each event will start at 7:00pm PT. With the new funding model “Regulation Crowdfunding” (Reg CF), anyone can invest in their favorite startup for as little as $100. The event agenda has been modified:
Panelist Investors each agree to invest a minimum of $1,000 in the presenting companies.
At the end of the event, Panelist Investors will announce which company they are investing in and why.
Panelists Investors will pool an additional investment of up to $15,000, and the audience will vote on which startup receives the pooled funds.
The event will start with a 5-minute of investor education.
No more than 3 startups will pitch / present at each quarterly event. 10 minutes per pitch.
Panelist Q&A is increased from 5 minutes to 8 minutes.
