CRP Affordable Housing and Community Development Secures Financing for Westside Village, Bringing 38 New Affordable Homes to Santa Cruz

CRP Affordable Housing and Community Development announced the successful closing of construction financing for Westside Village, a new affordable housing development located in Santa Cruz, California. This pivotal project will introduce 38 much-needed affordable homes for individuals and families, significantly contributing to the local housing supply.

Westside Village will serve residents earning between 30% and 80% of the Area Median Income. Notably, 25 of these units will be supported by project-based vouchers from the Housing Authority of The County of Santa Cruz, further enhancing accessibility for those most in need.

Upon completion, Cambridge Real Estate Services will take on property management, ensuring a well-maintained and thriving community. Essential resident services will be provided by PACIFIC SOUTHWEST COMMUNITY DE, offering crucial support to the residents.

Strategically located at 850 Almar Avenue, Westside Village boasts convenient walkability to public transportation, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and various community amenities. The site's designation as a "Highest Resource" area by the 2024 TCAC Opportunity Map underscores its potential to foster long-term stability and opportunity for its residents.

Beyond housing, Westside Village is committed to providing a holistic and supportive living environment through comprehensive programming. Residents will have access to instructor-led adult education and skill-building programs, including computer literacy, job counseling, health education, ESL and citizenship classes, and art programs. Children in grades K-12 will benefit from a robust after-school program offering homework tutoring, reading sessions, arts and crafts, and computer enrichment.
