Monterey Bay Explorers Internship Opens Applications

Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Exploration Center (35 Pacific Ave, Santa Cruz, CA 95060) is looking for interns to join its Monterey Bay Explorers program, supporting hands-on environmental education for local students.
Interns will help lead field trip programs at the Sanctuary Exploration Center, teaching elementary students, many from Pajaro Valley Unified School District, about marine life in the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Beyond the classroom visits, interns will also support public events and interpretive programs across Watsonville and Santa Cruz.
The role offers practical experience in environmental education, public speaking, and insight into career paths within the National Marine Sanctuary system. It is strongly recommended to submit your application by no later than September 11.
Timeline:
First review of applications: week of September 10
Interviews: September 13 to 20
Internships expected to begin: late September
