Experience Computer Science Week at the Santa Cruz CS Playgrounds
Computer Science Education Week is an annual call to action to inspire K–12 students to learn computer science, advocate for equity, and celebrate the contributions of students, teachers, and partners to the field. This celebration highlights the importance of expanding access to computer science and recognizing the individuals and organizations that help move the field forward.
As part of this effort, the Santa Cruz County Office of Education invites the community to celebrate at its Computer Science Playgrounds. These events are designed to showcase the possibilities within computer science through hands-on exploration. Learners of all ages are welcome to join for an evening filled with live demonstrations, interactive experiences, and opportunities to connect with industry members and passionate computer scientists. Participants can choose to attend one night or experience both events.
Event dates include:
December 9th from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at Watsonville High School
December 11th from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at the Santa Cruz MAH
Both events are free and open to the public!
Through these Computer Science Playgrounds, the community is invited to explore tools, engage with demonstrations, and celebrate the expanding presence of computer science education. This shared experience helps energize learners and strengthens community engagement in the world of technology.
