Verdagy to Supply Hydrogen to Mainspring Energy to Power Linear Generators
Verdagy, a leader in clean hydrogen electrolysis, is partnering with Mainspring Energy to install a hydrogen-powered linear generator at Verdagy's Moss Landing, California plant. This facility has been producing hydrogen for four years, operating over 20,000 hours and producing more than 200 tons of hydrogen.
This collaboration creates a reliable, low-cost hydrogen fuel source for Mainspring's generators while providing Verdagy with an on-site hydrogen offtake and electricity for its electrolyzers. Operations are expected to begin by summer 2025.
Both CEOs, Marty Neese of Verdagy and Shannon Miller of Mainspring, highlight how this partnership will enhance energy resiliency for the electrical grid, data centers, and other applications by demonstrating a compelling model for clean, flexible, on-site power solutions. This initiative also allows Verdagy to reduce operational costs by converting hydrogen back into power for its facility.
By co-locating hydrogen production and consumption, this project showcases how low-carbon energy can be deployed at the point of use, which is critical for strengthening resilience in grid-constrained environments.
