X Academy Celebrates World Championship Win and Feature in Santa Cruz Vibes
X Academy is marking two big milestones this summer. The team recently won the 2026 MATE ROV World Championship, and now its story is being featured in the Summer 2026 issue of Santa Cruz Vibes magazine.
To celebrate, X Academy is inviting the public to a party on Friday, July 31, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Woodhouse Blending & Brewing, located at 119 Madrone Street in Santa Cruz. The event is a chance to meet the X Academy team in person, along with community partners, robotics families, and friends who supported the team's championship run.
Guests can also pick up their own copy of the Summer issue of Santa Cruz Vibes at the event. The evening will include complimentary pizza and salad while supplies last, a live DJ, and drink specials.
Organizers Tim Sylvester and Barbara Meister say the celebration is about more than one win. It's a chance to recognize community, innovation, and the students who continue to make Santa Cruz proud.
