CEO Works Luncheon Recap: Navigating Change in Business and Building a Thriving Work Culture
Effective communication is the engine for navigating change and building a high-performing team. Studies show that good communication can lead to a 25% increase in productivity, 12.5 times higher employee job satisfaction, and 4.5 times higher employee retention. Miscommunication, on the other hand, costs U.S. businesses an estimated $1.2 trillion annually.
The key to effective communication, especially when communicating change is clear messaging that explains the what, why, and how behind changes, as well as utilizing inclusive decision-making that considers the staff's perspective. It’s no secret that humans tend to think of themselves first, and how they will be impacted, and these are the kinds of things that we must keep in mind when relaying any message.
Good communication is a learned skill and transparent communication is critical for building trust, which involves being honest when answers are unknown and actively listening to and understanding the reasons behind any resistance, rather than rushing to fix the problem. Additionally, acknowledging small wins—even something as simple as recognizing 25% completion of a task—is essential, as not everyone is motivated by the same things and may need encouragement to feel valued. It takes practice, and if you struggle with this, one tip Becca suggests is to look for people on your team who are good at recognizing contributions and involving them in this important role.
During this workshop, Becca Davis shares more valuable frameworks, dives into why culture matters, and invites you to engage in activities and answer questions that can quickly help you identify gaps in your business, your skills, and your team that can help you get your team prepared.
Becca is opening a limited number of free 1:1 consultations—your opportunity to see how these strategies can work for your business. Reserve your spot by filling out her Contact Form or emailing her at beccadavis0403 [AT] gmail.com
