Blitzer Gallery 2026 CODA
The R. Blitzer Gallery will bring an arts-powered jolt of STEAM energy to an upcoming community gathering on May 1, underscoring a simple truth that technology sometimes forgets: artists are innovators and entrepreneurs, too.
While the gallery’s day-to-day focus is the arts rather than technology, its team strongly supports STEAM education, with the “A” doing real work, not serving as a decorative acronym. Creative practice builds the same muscles that drive breakthrough products and new ventures: experimentation, iteration, storytelling, and the courage to ship something unfinished into the world and learn from the response.
Anchoring the gallery’s participation is Color Stories: 2026 CODA (Community of Digital Artists) Members’ Exhibition, opening May 1. The show will be juried by well-known local photographer Shelby Graham, adding a sharp, professional eye to a collection that’s consistently known for high craft and strong presentation. CODA has exhibited at the R. Blitzer Gallery multiple times, and each return has delivered a polished, visually striking experience that reflects the depth and maturity of the region’s digital art community.
To deepen the educational impact, participating artists will be available to meet with students, discuss their techniques in digital art, and share career pathways. For students exploring creative and technical futures, these conversations can make the next step feel less abstract and more achievable: a real person, a real process, and a real profession.
The day will also feature a First Friday reception from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, welcoming the wider community to celebrate the exhibit, connect with artists, and experience firsthand how creativity and technology intersect. In a world obsessed with “innovation,” the R. Blitzer Gallery is making a practical point: innovation has always had an arts department.
