Help Rename Santa Cruz Works' Titans Event
Help pick the new name for Santa Cruz Works' signature awards night, and win tickets while you're at it!
For nine years, Santa Cruz Works has honored the region's top entrepreneurs, engineers, and innovators at an annual celebration. What began as "Titans of Tech" in its early years evolved into the "Titans Awards," recognizing that the region's most impactful leaders now span far beyond the tech sector alone, from biomedical researchers to educators to nonprofit founders.
The Titans Awards has grown from a niche tech mixer into one of the most anticipated nights in our region's calendar, drawing honorees from UC Santa Cruz, local startups, education, and the nonprofit sector. We want something short but sweet to recognize the diverse variety of incredibly impactful people in our region. A name that reflects that growth could help the event attract an even wider range of nominees and attendees going forward.
Now, Santa Cruz Works is considering a more permanent rename, one that better reflects the full breadth of honorees the event has come to celebrate. Rather than making the call internally, our organization is turning the decision over to the people who show up every year: the local business, tech, and you—our innovation community!
How to Participate
Santa Cruz Works is inviting community members to:
Submit name ideas for the rebranded event by noon, September 25.
Vote on a shortlist of finalist names once submissions close. Voting will be from Monday, September 28 until midnight, Sunday, October 4, 2026.
On Monday, October 5 we will share what the new name is!
As a token of appreciation, whoever submits the winning name will receive:
Two tickets to the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour, Adventure Night, October 10th at 7 PM at the Rio Theatre
Two VIP tickets to the newly renamed Titans event
