On September 9th, six local ventures will share what they're building: transit systems that fly above traffic, tech turning waste into opportunity, Wall Street-grade intelligence for mid-market companies, indie games born from grit and creativity, and visual spectacles built for the world's biggest audiences. Presenters:
Line Mobility— Dr. Robert Baertsch, Co-Founder & Head of Operations and Data Science
Line Mobility is reimagining mass transit with on-demand, point-to-point elevated guideway systems that move people nonstop above traffic congestion, no schedules or transfers required. Dr. Baertsch oversees the software and control systems behind their magnetic levitation personal rapid transit technology, bringing a background spanning electrical engineering, computational biology, and over 20 peer-reviewed papers in sustainable transportation research.
Purcell— David Conway, Founder
Purcell is redesigning the bulk food aisle with the M1 Dispenser, a sanitary, low-waste alternative to leaky gravity bins and single-use packaging. Founded in Santa Cruz after witnessing ocean plastic pollution firsthand in the Coast Guard, Purcell's dispensers are now deployed at scale in grocery stores and corporate campuses nationwide, backed by multiple patents.
Legacy Property Advisors Foundation— Trent Davis & Andrew Devlin, Co-Founders
After navigating the financial strain of his mother's decade-long battle with Alzheimer's, Trent Davis founded this nonprofit to help families make informed, coordinated decisions about funding long-term care, especially when the family home is the primary asset at stake. All workshops and trainings are offered free of charge.
Game Grove Incubator— Tyler Coleman, Retora Games
A local game developer with five years of experience across design, programming, and production will showcase two titles: Pinballistic and Stardozing. With credits on over a dozen titles and speaking appearances at GDC and PAX Dev, Tyler will share insights on procedural generation, rapid prototyping, and algorithmic art.
Visual Endeavors— Aron Altmark, Founder
Visual Endeavors is a Santa Cruz creative technology studio blending real-time video, screens, and interactive systems for live entertainment and brand experiences. Their work spans Sphere residencies (Eagles, Backstreet Boys, Zac Brown Band), tours with Green Day, Deftones, and Morgan Wallen, and experimental installations from Paris Fashion Week to San Francisco City Hall.
Cardyn— Charles Gonzales, Founder
Cardyn brings Wall Street-grade financial intelligence to mid-market companies, closing the gap between institutional decision-making tools and the businesses that drive the broader economy. Their offerings include daily AI-generated business intelligence briefings, a private AI assistant trained on a company's own data, and real-time executive dashboards, giving owners visibility that once required an enterprise budget and a quant team, delivered in weeks instead of months.
